At the Mid-Atlantic Patient Safety Center, we believe that lasting improvements in patient safety require action not only at the bedside, but also in the policy arena. Our advocacy work brings the voice of healthcare providers, patients, and communities to the decision-making tables where laws, regulations, and funding priorities are set. As a nonprofit dedicated to education, research, and collaboration, we engage in selective policy and regulatory advocacy to support our mission and improve outcomes across the Mid-Atlantic.
We engage directly with legislators, regulatory bodies, and state agencies across the Mid-Atlantic to champion policies that promote safe, high-quality care. This includes tracking emerging legislation, providing expert testimony, contributing data-driven insights, serving on Task Forces, and collaborating with partner organizations to amplify our collective impact. Our priorities range from strengthening patient safety standards and improving reporting systems to advancing workforce well-being and addressing health equity.
By combining frontline expertise with policy influence, we help shape a regulatory environment where healthcare organizations can deliver safer care, innovate with confidence, and respond effectively to emerging challenges, ultimately protecting patients and improving health outcomes throughout the region.
